Iftaar Snacks: Crispy French Fries
Try these tasty French fries as a best and light iftaar snacks during the holy month of Ramadan. Normally when we try to make French fries they become soft and break easily. That is the reason we always prefer to buy them rather than preparing at home. French fries are easy and simple to prepare and you can try this method to make them a look alike of market fries.
Quick Meetha Samosa Recipe For Iftar
French fries are a healthy snack to have when you at breakfast (iftaar) during Ramadan. They are healthy and suffices your appetite. French fries at the same time do not kill your appetite for the main course dinner after having iftaar.
Try out this yummy and crispy French fries recipe.
Ramadan Special: Kashmiri Chicken Yakhni Recipe
Ingredients:
- Potatoes cut to thin slices: 4 pieces
- Grated cheese: 1-2 tablespoons
- Thyme: 1 teaspoon
- Sea salt: 1 teaspoon
- Chili powder: 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin: 1/4 teaspoon
- Ground black pepper: One teaspoon
- Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
- Vinegar: One tablespoon
Method of preparation:
- Cut the potatoes in the shape of French fries slices.

Soak
the
potato
slices
(fries)
in
a
bowl
of
cold
water
and
add
one
tablespoon
of
vinegar
to
it.
- Soak it for at least 30 minutes.

Take
out
the
fries
from
the
water
and
rinse
them.
- Later spread them on a soft cotton cloth so that they will dry.

Heat
your
microwave
over
to
200
degrees
celsius.

Add
cumin,
salt,
olive
oil,
cheese,
chili
and
pepper
to
the
fries
and
keep
them
in
a
microwave
oven.
- Keep tossing them so that they will not overlap on the oven tray.
- Bake in the oven for 25 minutes with frequent tossing.
- Take the fries out of the oven and keep them outside for five minutes.
- Set the oven at 250 degrees and put the fries back in the oven
- Bake the fries for five more minutes or until crispy and slightly darker on the edge.
- Sprinkle the fries with the remaining salt, chili, thyme, cumin and pepper
- Serve hot with tomato sauce at iftaar.
