Banana Bread Recipe For Kids

After your kids return form school and tuition, they look forward to eating something delicious. Indian snacks usually have a lot of tanginess and flavour no matter what they are. There are a range of fried items like samosas that you can treat your kids to. On the other hand, you also have a long list of healthy snacks.

When your child hears the word healthy, they always assume it to be something with veggies! However, in our sense of healthy snacks, what we are trying to convey is something fruity, tasty and at the same time fried too.

If your child is a picky eater, then you have to put in something which is fried on their plate. Kids love fried snacks. Therefore, we have a new recipe you could try out this evening for your little ones, known as the banana bread. The best thing about this banana bread recipe is that it can be fried or baked according to your choice.

Banana Bread Recipe For Kids

Take a look at how you can prepare this yummy banana bread for kids:

Serves: 3
Preparation Time: 24 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • Flour - 3 cups
  • Bananas - 5 (ripe and mashed)
  • Baking powder - 1 tbsp
  • Caster Sugar - ½ cup
  • Brown sugar - ½ cup
  • Eggs - 3 (beaten)
  • Oil- 1/ 2 cup
  • Vanilla Extract - 1 tsp
  • Butter - 1 tbsp
  • Honey as required

Procedure

  1. To begin making this yummy banana bread recipe, you first need to preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease the base of the loaf pan and keep it aside.
  2. Now sift the flour, and add in the baking powder and cinnamon into a large bowl.
  3. Stir the caster sugar and brown sugar into the same bowl.
  4. In another bowl, combine the eggs, oil and vanilla extract and keep it aside.
  5. Now take the mashed bananas and add it to the dry ingredients, which are the flour and the sugars. To this add in the egg, oil and vanilla ingredients too.
  6. Gently stir all the ingredients together till they form a thick batter.
  7. When the batter is ready, pour it into the loaf pan, spread it out nice and thick and bake it for about 40 minutes or so.
  8. When it is done, if you want to make your banana bread a little crispy, fry it in a little oil over a medium flame. Make sure not to not deep fry.

When the banana bread is ready you can spread a little butter over it (if fried) and if baked you can apply a little honey over. Eat when hot.
