Stir fry shrimps are the easiest things to make because shrimps hardly need any frying. To add a touch of herb sauce, especially a creamy one makes things more interesting. It is in fact it is interesting enough to be a great easy recipe for Christmas. While people sit chatting around for Christmas gatherings they will need something to munch on; saucy stir fried prawns is the perfect appetizer recipe for this purpose.

The herb sauce is rich and full of flavors; to make it a creamy sauce, fresh cream is also added. This recipe for Christmas is easy because it can be made within the span of half an hour. The ingredients too are uncomplicated and easy to find in almost any kitchen.

Ingredients For Stir Fry Shrimps In Sauce:

1. Shrimps or prawns 15 -20 (medium size without the heads)
2. Shallots or spring onions 4 bulbs and greens
3. Garlic 5 cloves (minced)
4. Green bell peppers or capsicum1 (chopped finely)
5. Green chillies 3 (minced)
6. Parsley or coriander leaves 2 tablespoons (chopped)
7. Mint leaves 1 tablespoon (chopped)
8. Basil leaves 1 tablespoon (chopped)
9. Oregano 1 teaspoon
10. White wine half cup
11. Fresh cream 1 cup
12. Cheddar cheese 1 cube (grated)
13. Butter 1 tablespoon
14. Olive oil 1 tablespoon
15. Salt as per taste

Procedure For Stir Fry Shrimps In Sauce:

  • Marinate the shrimps with 1 half of the pepper, salt and minced garlic. Drizzle a little olive oil on it.
  • Melt butter in a shallow pan and saute the onions in them until they turn golden. Fry the marinated prawns in it with the onions for 2-3 minutes on low flame.
  • Add the bell peppers and onion greens in the end and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Now start adding all the freshly chopped spices to the prawns and cook covered for 2-3 minutes on minimum flame.
  • Add white wine and cream to this and whisk properly. Let it come to boil and then add pepper, oregano and salt for the sauce.
  • Cook for 3-5 minutes on flow flame to let the spices get absorbed in the herb sauce.

Grate a cube of cheese on the stir fry prawns in sauce and serve it as a hot appetizer.
