Stir-fry Mongolian Chicken Recipe

But here is a lip-smacking version of this delightful recipe for chicken lovers.

Preparing Mongolian chicken recipe is not much of a hassle either. This chicken recipe is all about the sauce. The sauce is prepared using the combination of the hoisin, soy and oyster sauce which provides a delicious flavour to this dish. The chicken is first deep fried and then stir-fried in the sauce retaining its crispiness.

Ingredients

  • Chicken- 500 gms (boneless, sliced into thin strips)
  • Cornstarch- ½ cup (for coating)
  • Garlic- 1tbsp (chopped)
  • Onion- 1 (sliced)
  • Spring onions- 2 sprigs (chopped)
  • Black pepper powder- 1tsp
  • Hoisin sauce- 2tbsp
  • Soy sauce- 2tbsp
  • Oyster sauce- 1tbsp
  • Red chilli flakes- 1tsp
  • Salt- as per taste
  • Sugar- 1tsp
  • Oil- 1tbsp (for stir-frying)
  • Oil- 2cups (for deep frying)
  • Water- 1 cup

Procedure

  1. Clean and wash the chicken strips properly.
  2. Spread the cornstarch on a plate. Toss the chicken pieces in it so that they get covered completely.
  3. Heat oil in a deep frying pan and fry the chicken pieces on low flame till they become golden brown.
  4. Once done, keep the chicken aside.
  5. Now mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, red chilli flakes and sugar in a bowl. Keep it aside.
  6. Heat oil in a pan. Add onions and fry on medium heat till they turn transparent.
  7. Add chopped garlic and spring onions. Fry for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Add black pepper powder and salt.
  9. Now pour the sauce mixture and cook for about 5 minutes.
  10. As the sauce starts to thicken, add the fried chicken and mix well.
  11. Once done, switch off the flame and serve.

Stir-fry Mongolian chicken recipe is ready to be served. It is a perfect accompaniment with steamed rice or noodles.
