Green Pepper Chicken Curry Recipe

Green Pepper Chicken Curry Recipe

Serves: 3
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 18 minutes

All You Need

  • Chicken - 500 gms (raw)
  • Bell Pepper - 2 (sliced)
  • Onion - 1 (chopped)
  • Tomato - 1 (chopped)
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
  • Green Chilli - 2 (sliced into two)
  • Spices - cardamom, cinnamon and clove (all 2-3 nos)
  • Curd or Fresh Cream - 2tbsp
  • Water- 1 cup
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Procedure

  1. Add oil in a pressure cooker.
  2. Wait for the oil to turn hot and then add in the spices.
  3. Saute the spices and add the green chillies. Fry well.
  4. Now add the chopped onions and fry till they turn golden brown in colour.
  5. Once cooked, add the chopped tomato and saute well.
  6. After 5 minutes , add turmeric powder and mix well.
  7. Now add the pieces of raw chicken to the cooker and mix all the ingredients well using a flat spoon.
  8. Allow the gravy to soak in the chicken and then add sliced bell pepper to the cooker.
  9. Give it a good stir, add the water and salt to taste.
  10. Now close the lid and allow it to pressure cook for at least 10 minutes.
  11. When done, switch the flame off and garnish the green pepper chicken curry with fresh cream or a whisked spoon of curd.

Nutrition Tip
This is a healthy treat as it contains lean meat - chicken and health veggie - capsicum. Both these ingredients provide you with sufficient energy.

Tip
Don't pressure cook the chicken for more than 4 whistles.
