Different Vermillion Colors For Women

Vermillion
Vermillion commonly known as Sindoor or vermilion, is a colored powder which holds a great value in Indian tradition. In early times, women used to fill half of their hair parting line with it as it is believed that the longer the sindoor size, the longer the age of her husband.

It is used to symbolize that the woman is married. It is also used in temples to put tilak on Goddesses. With time and westernization, Indian women have changed the pattern of putting vermilion. The commonly used vermillion colors are red, orange, scarlet and yellow. Modern women have come up with new designs and vermillion colors to flaunt their hair parting line and maintain culture with little modification. Here are few colors of vermillion and designs for its application:

  • Vermilion is a powder which can be applied straight on the beginning of the hair parting line of about 4 cms.
  • Liquid vermilions have come in the market as powder spreads on the forehead and leaves a red mark on the line. So, women have started using liquid ones which does not smudge and remains intact on its applied place. Few women apply it in small zig-zag ways after negative roles in soap operas brought it in fashion.
  • Glitter vermilion is an outcome of the TV characters. The shimmery red colored ones can be used as a bindi (circular small ball between two eyebrows). If you want to use it as sindoor then make straight line of 2 cms on the parting line and make a small design like small balls, sun below the glitter line.
  • New vermillion colors like green and blue have come up for women to apply based on their dress colors. You can make little big lines of 3-4 cms to flaunt your matching color. Don't try designs as it is already eye catchy.

Therefore, try these colors and try new look of your face and a change from the monotonous design and color of sindoor.
