Summers are already here and the biggest struggle in front of us is to take care of our skin and body. Protecting your skin from the harmful rays of the sun urges the requirement of using a sunscreen with a good SPF value. Knowing about the ways to apply sunscreen also helps a great deal.

Using a sunscreen with a high SPF helps to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun and also protects your skin from sun damage or getting tanned.

So, it is advised to wear sunscreen whenever you go out in summer days, as it will lessen the effects of skin damage.

Doctors have believed that harmful rays of the sun may also lead to skin cancer in a person and that's why protection of skin during the summer days is quite important.

We may usually apply the sunscreen on our faces and completely ignore applying it on other parts.

Check out a few important parts of your body where you must always apply a sunscreen, especially during the summer days.

1. Your Lips

1. Your Lips

Yes, your lips also need protection from the harmful UVA and UVB rays of the sun. You should always be using a lip balm which contains SPF, as it helps to protect your lips from sun damage. For people who do not protect their skin from sun rays often see tan lines in between the lips, these often lead to cracked and dark lips. The lower lips are more likely to be affected by the sun rays and hence applying a balm with SPF is very important.

2. Your Ears

2. Your Ears

Yes, your ears are as important as your face and hence you should never forget to apply a sunscreen. There are a lot of instances where skin cancer was detected due to sun damage on the ears. It does not matter what is the type of sunscreen you are using, what matters is covering your ears from the harmful rays of the skin. Whether it is gel or a cream or a spray, you should always be using a sunscreen with a high SPF and never forget your ears.

3. Your Shoulder

3. Your Shoulder

Whether you are wearing sleeveless dress or not, application of a sunscreen on the shoulder area is really important. We mostly ignore this area and do not apply a sunscreen there or regular basis. The sun rays are so powerful that they can penetrate deep into the skin, giving you a sun tan easily. This is especially important if you are wearing a swimsuit. So, always wear a sunscreen before you step out of the home.

4. Top Of The Feet

4. Top Of The Feet

How many of you protect your feet? Well, no one of us even pay any attention to that important part of our body. If you are wearing sandals or flip flops, protecting the upper part of the feet is very important, as it may be affected by the harmful rays of the sun. You should apply an ounce full of sunscreen on the feet, so that it helps to reverse the sun damage easily. You should apply sunscreen before wearing a sandal, so that the area remains protected from the sun.

5. Your Eyelids

5. Your Eyelids

Eyes are the most delicate parts of our body and hence you should be really very cautious while dealing with them. Protecting your eye from sun damage is very important during the summer days. According to experts, the risk of skin cancer on eyelids is probably very high as compared to other parts of the body. If you are afraid to apply sunscreen on the eyelids, you can start using a sunscreen stick. Sunscreen sticks are generally sticky and waxy, which help to protect your eyelids from the harmful UVA and UVB rays.

6. Your Scalp

6. Your Scalp

Scalp is another important place where we often forget to apply a sunscreen. Protecting your scalp and hair from the harmful rays of the sun is very important, as it may leave you with dry, irritated and sticky scalp. Also due to direct penetration of the sun rays on the scalp, it leads to irritation and boils on the scalp. You should apply a hair sunscreen to take care of your scalp as well as the hair. Apart from this, one important point you should consider is to use a hat. Using a hat prevents sun rays from penetrating deep inside the scalp, thus preventing scalp and hair damage.

7. On The Elbows

We usually ignore this part all together. Applying a good amount of sunscreen on the elbows is imperative, as this region gets damaged easily due to friction. The elbows turn dark and this can further lead to an irreparable damage.
