Tried And Tested Home Remedies For Blackheads

Those small black pesky spots on your nose are sure to spoil a face well done. You may have tried all those fancy off-the-shelf remedies but hardly any seem to work. Even if one works the black heads are sure to come back. And that calls for some more expenses to get rid of black heads.

The less visible ones are white heads but nonetheless ugly looking. These black and white heads are nothing but dust and grime that accumulate on the face.

When the pores of our skin widen these dust particles settle in the pores and give us a terrible time trying to clean them. What they require is a cleanser that goes deep down into the pores of the skin and flushes them out.

When you are faced with black heads make sure not to pull them out with tweezers. The method is not only time taking but will also leave gaping pores.

These open pores will once again attract dust and give you more blackheads. Go for these kitchen remedies for blackhead removal. They are readily available at all times and cost you pennies.

1. Cinnamon:

Honey and cinnamon form an excellent blackhead removal recipe. Take one tablespoon of cinnamon powder and mix enough honey to make a paste. Apply this honey and cinnamon to the affected area. It would be best if you could leave this overnight. Wash in the morning to get clearer skin.

2. Oatmeal:

Mix one tablespoon of oatmeal to equal quantities of honey and lemon juice. Prepare a paste like mixture and apply to the face or just the affected area. Leave it for at least 15 - 20 minutes and wash off using lukewarm water. This is a homemade blackhead removal recipe that doubles up as a nourishing face pack.

3. Green tea:

Green tea leaves make an easy and affordable face scrub that gets rid of blackheads. Grind green tea leaves to get a powder form. Mix one tablespoon of the powder in water to get a paste like consistency. Use as a scrub on your face and affected areas.

4. Salt water:

Dissolve one tablespoon of Epsom salt in half a cup of water. Mix besan or gram flour to the salt water to make a face pack. Make sure to mix thoroughly or else you might end up getting lumps. Apply the pack to the face and let it dry. Wash with warm water.

5. Jojoba oil:

Jojoba oil is said to be very similar to our sebum and it is this quality that helps cleans the pores. Apply jojoba oil to the face just as you apply any other cream or moisturizer. Allow it to work on the skin overnight. Wash off the next day. This will clean pores and moisturize the skin.

6. Strawberry:

This is one fruity way to get clean, clear and blemish free skin. Take a couple of strawberries and pulse in your mixer. Apply this strawberry juice to your face and let it do its work. Wash off after fifteen minutes using lukewarm water. You will be left with a refreshed look.

7. Charcoal:

Activated charcoal has been used since ages as a cleanser. You can make your very own charcoal face scrub using activated charcoal powder. Mix the charcoal with your regular face wash and cleanse your face. This is an easy and natural way to remove blackheads.

8. Turmeric:

The benefits of turmeric are undebatable. Mix this with skin friendly sandalwood and nourishing milk and an easy remedy for blackheads is ready. Take equal quantities of turmeric powder and sandalwood powder.

Add enough milk to make a paste and apply. When the paste is dry wash off using lukewarm water. This pack can be applied to the whole face too to get glowing, clean and healthy skin.


9. Tomatoes:

Another juicy way to ward off blackheads. Pulse a tomato in your mixer to get tomato juice. Add besan to it to make a paste. Apply on affected area or entire face and leave it for at least 15 minutes. Wash using lukewarm water.

10. Clay:

This is a very down to earth method. You need powdered clay and apple cider vinegar. Lemon juice would also do. Mix enough vinegar and clay to get a paste consistency. Apply to blackhead regions and let it dry. Wash using tap water.

Blackheads are surely annoying but remember never to pull them out. Keep all steel tools away from them as they may add on to the dirt and grime. Change your pillow case regularly and try not to touch your face often. Make sure to wash your face at least twice a day. Doing so can help you avoid blackheads to a great extent.
