All of us have some kind of dark spots on our faces and no matter how much we try to get rid of them and crave for a flawless skin, we struggle to do so. These dark spots may have been left behind from our teenage days when we had stubborn acne and pimples on our face.
I'm sure most of us ended up picking at the spots back then, even though our elders told us not to do so. Little did we know that the marks left from those spots would haunt us even in adulthood. Sometimes the marks are a result of sun damage.

We all wish for a clear skin free of all kinds of spots, but it seems like a distant dream. There are a lot of products like creams and medical ointments available in the market that claim to get rid of all the spots on your face.
But do these products actually work or are they just making tall claims to attract vulnerable consumers who are just desperate to get rid of their dark spots?
Even if they do work, most of these treatments are really expensive and there has to be a huge investment on the part of the consumer. Even then, sometimes there is no real guarantee that they will work effectively.
So, home remedies, while they may be slow and require a lot of patience, are safe and cheap. Here are seven easy ways to diminish the intensity of dark spots on the face:
Lemon juice is a natural bleaching agent. Apply the juice of a lemon only on the spots and leave it on for 20 minutes. This can irritate the skin just a little bit due to the citric acid. So be careful and do not apply it on the whole face. Do this everyday and see your spots fade away.
Aloe vera gel:
Aloe vera gel has healing properties. Both the gel bought from a store or the gel extracted from the leaf of the plant would work. The aloe vera gel should be applied every night before going to bed, directly on the marks. Doing this would slowly help the marks to fade away.
Orange and turmeric:
A paste made out of orange juice and turmeric powder can be used on the spots once in every two or three days. Turmeric is known for its healing and brightening properties. With regular use, your dark spots would definitely fade. This should not be used all over the face as without a lubricating agent like an oil or milk, it can dry the entire face.
Vitamin E Oil:
Almond oil is rich in vitamin E. Many brands make diluted versions of vitamin E oils and these work effectively in spot reduction. Otherwise, just mix a little almond oil with water and glycerin and apply this every night on the spots. An added bonus is that if applied all over the face overnight, this would leave the skin glowing and softer the next morning.
Take a tomato from the fridge and cut it. Rub the cold tomato juice over the spot, either by juicing it or by directly rubbing the cut vegetable on the dark spots. The cooling effect of the juice and the citric acid in the tomato helps in the reduction of dark spots.
Sandalwood is often used in face packs for brightening the skin and also for oil control. Make a paste of sandalwood and glycerin and apply this paste on the spots. Let it dry and then wash off. Do this once every week. It will help to lighten the spots.
Apple cider vinegar:
Apple cider vinegar has multiple health benefits and even helps with boils and bee stings. Dab some apple cider vinegar on the dark spots with the help of a cotton ball. Do this at least once everyday and watch how your dark spots fade away.
These are the remedies for dark spots. I hope this post helps you to achieve the spotless skin you always wanted. All it needs is a little patience.
