6 Grandma-Approved Masks To Nail That Dew Skin!

Because your skin needs some love! Treat it with these herbal masks.

By Kumutha

We do a lot for our skin. From running to a spa for the monthly-never-miss-ritualistic-facial, spending 1/3rd of our meager salary on skin care products, to investing hours in every day skin care, that is a LOT of work!

Still, there is something or other always amiss with our skin. The uninvited pimples, the dreaded dull skin to the annoying blackheads! To save you the trouble, and do you a solid favour, we curated some legit grandma-approved herbal masks for that coveted dewy glow.

Disclaimer: We DON'T say these homemade masks for clear skin will give overnight results. However, they will bring about positive results when coupled with the right skin care regimen.

Skin care rules you need to follow:

Never step out under glaring sunlight, without applying proper SPF at least an hour before.

Quit touching your face, you don't want to transfer bacteria from your hand to skin.

Love your skin. Go easy on makeup. Let your skin breathe.

And the golden rule of all, drink loads and loads of H20.

And, for that added TLC, here are some skin-brightening masks that show results!

Heal With Aloe Vera

Heal With Aloe Vera

Aloe vera has a chock-full of antioxidants, aloesin and vitamin E, which heal, hydrate and repair skin cells.

Peel and extract aloe vera gel from its leaf. Place it in the refrigerator to chill for 15 minutes. Take it out. Using a fork, beat it well, until it softens again. Add five drops of primrose oil. Massage it into your skin. Leave it overnight. By morning, your skin will be supple, smooth and super glowy!

Revive With Egg

Egg packs a powerful punch of proteins, which can brighten your skin and slow down ageing.

Take 1 egg white in a bowl, add a few drops of lemon juice. Beat it well until you get a frothy consistency. Apply it evenly to your face and neck. Let it sit until your skin feels stretchy. Rinse it off with plain water.

Hydrate With Milk Cream

Lactic acid in milk can rejuvenate dry skin and lighten your complexion.

Take 1 teaspoon of milk cream, add a pinch of turmeric and a few drops of almond oil. Apply it to your skin. Let it work for 30 minutes. Scrub and rinse with plain water.

Buff With Oats

Vitamin E and antibacterial properties present in oats will slough off the dead skin cells, giving skin a radiant glow.

Grind 1 tablespoon of oats into a rough powder. Add a teaspoon of honey. Using buttermilk, whip it into a gritty paste. Apply it to your face. Wait till it dries. When you feel your skin stretch, scrub it in a circular motion. Rinse and pat dry.

Tone With Rice Water

Packed with minerals, rice water will not just remove surface impurities, but also tone skin.

Take 1 tablespoon of rice water, add in a few drops of lemon juice and lavender oil. Dip a cotton ball into the solution. Wring out the excess and dab it onto your skin. Let it sit until completely absorbed into the skin. Wipe off the residue with a wet towel.
