Ancient Rice Water Beauty Recipes For Lighter Skin
There was a time when our mothers used to cook rice and save the sticky white residue we called rice water. It was yucky to say the least, and it tasted bad! However, for some unfathomable reason, mothers always saved rice water and concocted their own rice water beauty recipes out of it.
As the time went by, and we took on the kitchen, we kept it clean. We, cook rice, throw the water and that's that.
However, it was not until recently that our research revealed what an elixir rice water can be for our skin.
One of those many times we regret not having paid close attention to what our genius mothers actually do in the kitchen.
Rice water contains allantoin, a powerful antibacterial compound known to soothe acne.
It also contains a chain of amino acids, which is known to cleanse pores of impurities, tighten the skin, improve complexion and boost the elasticity of the skin.
Other than that, rice water happens to be a powerhouse of vital vitamins and minerals, which tighten, brighten and soften the skin.
Now that you know exactly what rice water can do, we hope you don't commit the mistake of throwing it away the next time you make rice.
