It is fun walking in the rains and feeling the raindrops on the skin. But the skin could just not always be ready for fun in the monsoons. Every skin type needs to be taken care of in all weathers but if you are the oily skin types the care regime becomes a little more demanding.

Oily skin on its own is prone to problems. Following certain skin care tips for oily skin in monsoon weather can help tackle these problems to a great extent. Why does oily skin have complications? The answer lies in the over active oil glands.

Another reason that has been cited in Ayurveda is an upset bowel and digestive system. In fact Ayurveda says that the root to all body problems lies in the bowel. If you want to follow a successful monsoon skin care routine make sure to have a well-functioning digestive tract.

Oily skin needs a little extra care but if you have been doing things right throughout you will hardly feel the ‘extra effort’. In fact these are normal skin care tips and should be followed by all but oily skin owners need to be a bit more careful.

Cleansing: This is a basic skin care regime that all skin types need to necessarily follow. Use a cleanser that helps control oil and open up pores. Try to give your face a warm wash which is further helpful in extracting oil from the glands. Wash your face two to three times a day and definitely after having stayed out for a long time. A face scrub twice is a week will help remove all dead skin cells. It is important to let the skin breath freely. This will not only give you a refreshing feel but will also prevent the build-up of black heads and white heads.

Toning: The next step in skin care is toning. The dirt and grime has been washed off and the skin is all new and fresh. Use a mild toner to tighten up the skin and close the pores. Open pores are vulnerable to dirt floating around in the atmosphere. One absolutely wonderful toner comes in the form of rose water. Take some of it on a cotton swab and rub all over the face. Do this repeatedly two to three times a day. The smell is great and the toned feeling is fabulous.

Moisturize: Oily skin has excessive oil but that does not mean that you do have to moisturize it. Use a water based moisturizer which will not be too heavy on your face. It is quite likely to get wet in the rains. In such situations you can go for an oil based moisturizer which will not wash-off with water.

Face masks: The purpose of face masks is to refresh the skin, take away dead skin cells, help tighten up the skin and bring a glow upon the face. Instead of going for expensive store bought ones try mixing up your own. Items in the kitchen like lemon, honey, oats, egg, milk, papaya, cucumber, aloe vera and curd are just a few names. Use them alone or in combination; your skin is going to love this treat.

Eat healthy: What you eat reflects upon your skin. Avoid excessively oily food and too much of starch. Try to incorporate a good amount of fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet. Water is important to give the skin the soft and supple texture. Have plenty of it.

You may say that everything mentioned here does not sound something particularly like skin care tips for oily skin in monsoon. But how many of us go to the extent of doing that what is normal? Very few of us. Even if you make up your mind to follow this daily regimen the look of your skin will get an uplift that will reflect upon your personality.
