Remedies For Razor Burns In Men
No matter how much prep work you do or how many precautionary measure you take, there will always be times when you end up with after shave razor burns.
Razor burn is a common condition in which irritation causes the skin to develop a mild rash soon after the area has been shaved. They usually appear within a few minutes of your bad shave, and last between few hours to a few days depending on how sever the cut or rash is.
The severity of razor burn depends on several factors wherein the causes could be anything like using a blade that is not sharp enough or using poor technique while shaving.

Men commonly suffer from razor burn since most of them shave their facial hair quite regularly, which is tougher to get rid of than most other body hair or hair shaved by their female counterparts.
Apart from face, razor burns can occur while shaving under arms or other regions where the skin is not as tight as your face while the hair might be softer than facial hair.
The effects of razor burn are usually the skin in a razor shaved area turning red and inflamed. The skin feels hyper-sensitive and stings, and may also itch a bit. These effects stats to kick in within the first five minutes after a shave. Razor burn may sometimes be mild and disappear on its own within a few hours or in more severe cases of razor burn the inflammation and the discomfort can last for several days.
Aloe-vera treatment
The aloe-vera allows for protection from immediate infections and has analgesic qualities that reduce swelling, soothe the irritation, and form a protective layer which protects the skin from infection and promotes healing. You can apply aloe-vera extract from the plant or buy aloe-vera gel from the store and play it after your shave to treat razor burns.
Aspirins
Take 1 teaspoon of warm water and dissolve 2 uncoated aspirins in it. Make it into a fine paste and rub it on your skin. Keep it for some time and wash it later with lukewarm water. You will have no burning sensation due to numbing effect.
Razor burn mask
Mash the strawberries and mix it with sour cream in a bow and make sure it is mixed well make a fine paste. Apply this paste after a bad shave where you end up with razor burns. You can apply this paste even after a regular shave to have a soft and smooth skin.
Witch hazel extract
Mix witch hazel extract with a little water and few drops of olive oil. Add a few aromatic herbs like lavender flowers, rosemary etc. to it and transfer the mixture into a jar along with cinnamon. Keep the solution in the jar for about 2-3 weeks and use the drained extract as aftershave oil to treat razor burns.
Shea Butter
This ivory coloured fat extracted from the nut of the African shea tree can be used in its original form as an aftershave to treat razor burns and have soothing effect. You can harden it by keeping it in a fridge and use it as a bar on your shaven skin to rejuvenate and heal the battered skin. It has a natural manly scent to it.
Cucumber
This very simple aftershave oil can be prepared by using cucumber, mint extract and water. With cooling effect of cucumber and mint, you are essentially giving your skin a soothing and cool massage to treat burning sensation that is caused due to razor burns. It helps fight inflammation too.
