Skin is the most important part of our body and it should be taken care of like a flower depending on the weather, environment, stress and anxiety levels and a whole lot of other factors. Early ageing or wrinkles could also be due to cosmetic use and heavy makeup. Hormones also play a role in changing the physiology of the skin.

Here are a few tips that can help you tackle skin stress:

Hydrate: No matter how oily or dry your skin is you will need to hydrate it in order to restore natural moisture balance. Drinking atleast 6-8 glasses of water every day cleans the skin and removes dead cells. Drinking fluids like coconut water, orange/lime juice also helps a lot.

Physical exercise: Perspiration is the best way to keep your skin alive. An hour of physical fitness is sure to remove toxins from deep down your skin and rejuvenate the cells with fresh supply of oxygen.

Avoid using cosmetics and skin creams: The chemicals present in cosmetics and skin creams can be a curse on your skin making it look dull and lifeless. Avoid direct sunlight exposure. Use a mild cosmetic only when it's necessary and avoid applying makeup everyday.

Yoga and meditation: Apart from physical exercise, yoga and mediation has proved to be very effective in tackling skin stress. A 10-15 minutes of meditation and breathing exercise pumps oxygen to the pores and helps in better circulation of the blood leading to healthy and supple skin.

Natural face packs and therapies: For oily skin it is best advised to take steam and follow it with a natural scrub as it opens up the pores, cleans the bacteria, blackheads, whiteheads and pimples. For dry skin, natural homemade therapies using milk cream, honey and yogurt proves to be beneficial.

Sleep: A blissful slumber can be the best way to hit stress. Lack of sleep can cause the skin to become dry and lifeless leading to other skin problems.

Hygiene: Skin hygiene is of utmost importance in keeping it healthy. Avoid using others towels, soap, clothes, bed and comb to prevent skin from harmful infections like eczema, psoriasis.

Massage therapy: Visiting a spa or massage salon once a month can revive and rejuvenate skin problems and also keep it healthy.

Skin friendly foods: Avoid alcohol, smoking, oily and deep fried food. Take in more green leafy vegetables and fruits that are rich in antioxidants which controls aging and improves skin health.
