Ayurvedic Skin Care Tips For Winter
Ayurveda is an ancient Indian science of medicine and healing. Ayurveda medicines are made from a combination of various shrubs, herbs and spices.

Ayurveda has been treating diseases related to every body organ. Similarly, Ayurveda has certain medications and methods to treat any skin disease. Skin is a delicate organ of our body.

The dry winter makes the skin dry and rough. Ayurveda medicine and ailments can give the extra protection needed by the skin during winters.
As the cold season has already started, many of us would be suffering from dry heels, chapped lips and rough skin. There are many ayurveda tips to keep the skin glowing and smooth in winters as well. Further, we will discuss some tips from Ayurveda that would help you keep your skin soft and fresh.
Massage – Ayurveda promotes hot oil massage as a remedy for dry and rough skin. Use hot oils made from ayurvedic ingredients like Brahmi and Neem. The oil massage nourishes the skin. The ayurveda oil massage keeps the skin hydrated. Regular oil massages are good for skin in winters. There are many ayurveda massage oils available in the market.
Face Masks – In winter season, use face masks or face packs with herbs that can bring back the moisture to the skin. You may use rose water, amla, aloevera , turmeric and other natural ingredients. You may use mix these with milk or cream. One such face mask can be made by usin aloe gel. Apply the gel on your face for a few minutes and then leave it till it becomes dry. Rinse with cold water. Another option is use a mixture of milk and rose water to clean your face everyday.. Regular use will leave your skin rejuvenated and moisturized.
Eat healthy – In winters it is very necessary to eat well. Add extra herbs and spices in your diet like amla, shataveri, ashwagandha, triphala and so on. All these herbs have the property to absorb all the toxins and throw them out. There are many ayurvedic chwapanprash available which is good for health when eaten in winters. Ayurveda herbs keep the skin moisturized. Regular consumption of one spoon chwapanprash is also very good for skin and body. Also include a lot of fruits in your diet. Fruits are naturally hydrating in nature and help to keep yur skin fresh and glowing.
Drink water – This is one skin care tip which is common for every season. Water helps to repair and replenish our cells. The skin becomes healthy and soft with regular water consumption. Ayurveda suggests the same skincare tip for winters. According to Ayurveda, water is a remedy for all ailments. It suggests to drink more water in winters as the outside atmosphere is dry. An average of 8 – 10 glasses water should be consumed each day.
Bath Products – According to Ayurveda do not use harsh soaps during winter. Chemical based soaps dehydrate the skin and make it rough. Try to replace soaps with a mixture of milk, cream, turmeric powder and besan. This will improve the texture of skin and make it soft.
