Do You Remove Makeup Before Sleeping?
Makeup, one of the important aspects of a woman's regular lifestyle can make one look beautiful hiding all the flause but at the same time can be hazardous if left over for a longer time. Though constant warnings of not to sleep with makeup on, we all tend to be lazy to take off makeup after long days work. There is a myth that only heavy makeup like that of foundation, blush, eye shadow etc need to be taken off but the fact is that a simple thing as kajal leftover at night can result in several problems. Lets look at why one should remove makeup before sleeping -
1.Pimples And Acne – One of the first reason why one should remove makeup before sleeping is the occurance of pimples. Makeup blocks our skin pores, thus blocking the natural flow of sebum, which is the natural skin oil, to keep the skin moisturised and flush out the dry skin cells. When the pores are blocked, the dry skin cells tend to stick on to the pores resulting in infections like pimples, acne, blackheads, dry skin etc.
2.Wrinkles – The body rejuvinates itself in nighttime and it has been proved that the cells are much more active at this time. The body de-stresses itself, recovers the damage done throughout the day and makes the body get prepared for the next day. But with make up on at night, it becomes difficult to for the cells to work appropriately. It rather creats excessive stress and thus resulting in wrinkles. Sleeping without removeing makeup before sleeping often results in premature aging.
3.Loss Of Eye Lashes – To sleep with eye makeup on at night oftem leads to loss of eye lashes. Most of the eye makeup substance specially mascara and eye liner have a certain amount of wax content. This tends to melt all throughtout day, resulting in sticking on tot eh eye lash follciles. Sleeping on with them, results in blocking the follicles and thus, results in eye lash loss.
4.Eye Infections – Another important reason to remove makeup before sleeping is eye infection. Makeup has harmful chemicals which tend to seep into your eyes as you sleep. These chemicals can cause loss of eye sight, pink eye, serious eye infections etc.
5.Lip Discolouration – Another harmful agent is lipstick. No matter even if it is enriched with Vitamin E or claims to have natural agents, the presence of chemicals is inevitables. The colouring agent of the lipstick is what harms the lips if kept on for a longer time. If one sleeps with lipstick on and applies more without cleaning the previous coat, lip allergies and discoluration is a common result.
Thus, to prevent your skin from all such problems and to retain the naturally beautiful skin, remove makeup before bedtime.
