To Be Or Not To Be: Man's Ultimate Confusion

To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them?
(Hamlet: William Shakespeare)


This famous Shakespearean dilemma has becoming the face of the modern men. Shakespeare"s Hamlet was confused between the fear of the uncertainty of death and of possible damnation of suicide. Hamlet's dilemma is that although he is dissatisfied with life and lists its many torments, he is unsure what death may bring. Now, let us see what pertains the minds of modern men.


Today"s men set their dreams in the sky with the philosophy that “Aim at the sky and you can achieve at least the grass." However most of them come to a bursting moment as they stand on the grass and fail to touch the sky. Dissatisfaction embraces them and they are confused about the worthiness of their lives.

“Suicide-life"s bitter expressions" often embraces the modern men who struggle to upkeep their status and image in the society. This bitter feeling of suicide often arises from the feeling of failure that many men admit. As they put their complete caliber and effort to succeed in life, there are some champions who outpass them. This can happen in career, relationships, finance and even in spirituality.

Many men in the present times hesitate to take a stand for their cause. They are suppressed by their circumstances and fear that if they voice out their dilemmas, they will be declared as the untouched in the society. They often suppress their dilemmas and wonder for a simple way out in life.

Now, what is the way out of this depressing situation? First of all consider that the “slings and arrows of outrageous fortune" are nothing supernatural but; came out from your own hands. Unlike other living beings on the planet, human beings have a tremendous power to think or concentrate on their issues. In that case divert your attention to find out a way out of this dilemma.

Many men tend to compare them with the most successful personalities in the world like Bill Gates, George Bush, Brad Pitt etc. Why should you do that? Consider the other side of your thoughts that you may be happy in many ways that your heroes aren"t. If you think in that way many of your problems will vanish to the horizon.

Come On, you are still confused about “To be or not to be." Let us change it in this aspect to “Should I take the action or not?" Whatever be your decision make sure that it is positive for a fulfilling life. You must be seeing a new hope rising in your life at this moment. Let the classical dilemma not capture you at this moment.
