Makeup Mistakes That Make You Look Older

Some makeup mistakes age you instead of enhancing your appearance. Here are some of them.

Makeup is meant to enhance your features to make you look your best. But some makeup mistakes can actually make you look older. We'll list down a few of them.

We aren't saying that looking old is bad, but you would want to stick to looking your age. Some of these mistakes are very common and anyone could make them.

One of the key things to remember is to make sure you buy the right kind of makeup. The wrong kind can make your skin not only break out but also make you look a lot older than you are. So here are some makeup mistakes that you must not make at any cost.

Not moisturising:

One of the main things that make you look older than you are, is not using enough moisturiser. If you apply a foundation without using moisturiser, your skin will look dehydrated, which makes it look old.

Too Much Concealer:

Too Much Concealer:

Too much concealer can actually make your fine lines look more prominent. Cream concealers tend to settle into your fine lines and look too obvious. Go for liquid concealers. They are lightweight and don't settle that easily.

Deep Wine Shades:

Deeper wine and berry shades can make you look older than you are. A darker shade of lipstick can draw attention to laugh lines. On the other hand, nude or light pink shades can make the lips look well defined.

Heavy Black Eye Makeup:

Using heavy black eye makeup can draw attention to your crow's feet and fine lines in the under eye area. Stick to minimal eye makeup, like a winged eye and some mascara.

Too Much Foundation:

Some women think that using a lot of foundation would cover up all flaws. All it does is draw more attention to all the flaws. Stick to lighter formulations. Also, go for dewy finishes as opposed to matte.

Too Much Blush:

Too Much Blush:

Too much blush used to be in fashion at an earlier point of time. You can still spot some women going by this. Instead, go for a tiny amount of cream blush on the apples of your cheeks.

Over Doing Shimmer:

The dewy effect attained by using a highlighter looks great if done properly. A highlighter should only be used on areas like the high points of your cheeks, the bridge of your nose and your cupid's bow. Some women make the mistake of applying it to the apples of their cheeks. This makes you look a lot older.
