Wash Your Face

Always wash your face before you start doing makeup. This is a standard beauty practice that many women ignore. Water washes away the oil that is already there on your skin.

Use A Scrub

If you have oily skin, then you must use a scrub to clean your face before doing makeup. Scrubbing removes oil from deep within your skin pores and keeps your face stay oil-free for longer.

Apply Ice

The best way to prevent your makeup from becoming oily is to apply ice on your face just before you apply makeup. Ice soothes the sweat glands and oil glands under the skin. Makeup stays fresh and sets on your face for long even in hot weather.

Don't Use Liquid Foundation

If your face has a tendency to become oily, avoid applying liquid foundations. The best base makeup for your face is obviously liquid foundation but you have to forgo it because it can make your makeup look oily.

Use Limited Concealer

While foundation can be found in dry form as well, concealers are always oil based. Use limited concealer on your face. Remember, concealers are only to hide flaws and to give you an even complexion. Using too much concealer is a makeup mistake that many women make.

Powder Your Face

Always apply dry foundation powder or gold dust to finish your makeup. The powdery nature of these cosmetic absorbs oil from the face.

Carry Tissue Paper

As a stop-gap arrangement, always keep tissue paper in your bag to soak oil from your face before it damages your makeup.
