The majority of the people forget to remember the fact that scalp is an important part of our body and also it is an extension of the skin.
Just like the body, the scalp also needs care and attention and negligence of the same might lead to dermatological problems. Those who do not take care of their scalp often suffer from issues like dandruff, itchy scalp, infection, acne and boil on scalp, etc.
If the unhealthy and dry scalp is left untreated, it may worsen the condition of the scalp and may lead to other problems. Excessive dryness or itchy scalp can also lead to dangerous situations to develop on the scalp, which should be avoided at any cost.
However, if you want to keep your scalp clean and healthy, here are a few tips you should try.

Oil massage is one of the common yet simple ways to rejuvenate your scalp and also keep it healthy. Massaging your scalp with oil can help to boost blood circulation in the scalp, thus activating the sebaceous glands, which further helps in nourishing the scalp due to the presence of natural oil.

Baking soda is a common ingredient from the kitchen that helps to keep your scalp healthy and strong. Using baking soda with water can help to reduce the oil buildup from the scalp and also improve the hair texture.
Make a paste of baking soda and water and apply it on the scalp. If you are dealing with itchiness or dandruff problems, you can add a few drops of essential oil or lemon juice to the paste. Apply this mixture on the roots and wash off with cold water.

Apply some aloe vera gel on the scalp and massage for some time. Leave it on for 15 minutes and wash off with cold water. Another way to use aloe vera gel on the scalp is to add some lemon juice to the aloe gel and apply the mixture on scalp.

Applying apple cider vinegar on your scalp can help to prevent scalp dryness and also control the production of oil on the scalp. Take half a cup of apple cider vinegar and add it to half a cup of water. Now, mix them together and rinse off the scalp with this diluted solution.
Another way to use apple cider vinegar is to add essential oil of your choice and wash your hair with this. This is a great remedy to treat excessive dryness and dandruff problems on the scalp.

With a lot of good antioxidants found in green tea, it helps in reducing inflammation and damaging effect on the scalp. Green tea is not only beneficial for skin and health, but it proves to be of great advantage for the scalp and hair.
Brew some green tea and allow it to boil for some time. Collect the water in a bowl and wash your scalp with this. Rinse off with a mild shampoo later. Green tea water helps to treat skin infections, pimples and psoriasis easily.

Peppermint is another great remedy that can help to keep your hair healthy. It is a perfect solution to treat scalp acne, scalp dryness and also treat excessive dryness easily.
Due to astringent and anti-inflammatory properties found in a mint wash, it can help to remove an excess amount of sebum and oil from the scalp, which in turn gives you a healthy scalp.
Take some fresh mint leaves and brew them in water. Add one spoon of essential oil of your choice and one spoon of lemon juice. Once the water boils, collect the water in a separate container. Rinse your scalp with this mixture when it cools down.

Applying a mixture of banana, honey and yogurt can help to benefit you in several ways. Another way to apply banana is to make a paste of banana and rice flour and apply the mixture on the roots of the hair.
