There are various factors that can lead to itchiness of the scalp. But the news here is, you can actually treat your problem with a few easy home remedies. Most probably itchy scalp is due to not washing your hair properly, dandruff, and fungus over scalp or may be due to other infections on the scalp.

1. Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is one among those essential oils that contains antibacterial quality and helps to get rid of all types of fungi and bacteria. You can even get rid of dandruff and other scalp problems after using tree tea oil.

Take 10-1 5 drops of tea tree oil in a bowl. Now take some shampoo in the same bowl and mix them together. Make sure that you are not applying tea tree oil directly on your scalp and blend it well with the shampoo. Use this shampoo and wash your scalp like you do every time. Continue using tea tree oil every time you wash your hair. You will notice the difference in a couple of weeks.

Baking soda is the most efficient product that helps to work effectively against itchy scalp. Each one of us does have baking soda at home and hence it becomes very easy to make a hair pack using baking soda.

Take 4-5 spoons of baking soda in a bowl and add some water to it. Now mix the ingredients together and make sure that the paste is thick and is not too runny. You can apply this paste on your scalp directly and leave it undisturbed for some time. Wash off after 20-25 minutes. Repeat doing this every alternate day to get rid of itchy scalp completely.

Lemon is one of the best ingredients for your hair and skin. Due to antiseptic properties present in the lemon, you can actually use it in treating itchy scalp. Various experts have recommended that if lemon is used for a month or two, it will help you get rid of this problem completely.

Take 2-3 lemons and cut it into half. Now squeeze out the juice and collect it in a separate bowl. Then, apply this lemon juice on your scalp using a cotton ball and make sure you apply it thoroughly from the roots.

Applying lemon over scalp also helps to treat dandruff problems. Wash off after 10 minutes. Lemon works as a great conditioner as well.

You can add 2-3 drops of coconut oil every time in your shampoo and then rinse off your hair with it. Or else, you can give a nice massage to your scalp with coconut oil every alternate day.

Coconut oil helps to work against the fungal and other infections on the scalp. Once the oil settles down, you can wash it off using a baby shampoo.

You can make your own hairspray at home that will help to treat itchy scalp. Take a container and fill it half with apple cider vinegar. Now fill the rest half of the bottle with water and shake the container well.

Then, you can use this hair spray every day before you go to take a bath and wash it off. Spray this solution all over your hair and wash off after 20 minutes. Apple cider vinegar also helps to work against dandruff and also strengthens your roots.

Now massage your scalp using this for 15-20 minutes. Wash off with a mild shampoo. It is generally recommended to apply sesame oil at night and leave your scalp undisturbed overnight. This is because sesame oil can settle down completely on your scalp and also help in getting rid of itchy scalp completely.

Take appropriate amount of jojoba oil and heat it for some time. Apply this oil on your scalp and leave it overnight. It is preferable to keep you scalp unwashed for 12 hours after you apply the oil. Next day, wash off your scalp with warm water using a mild shampoo. Repeat doing this once or twice in a week.

You can take a handful of broccoli and allow it to boil for some time. You can blend the broccoli and convert it into a thick paste. If needed, add a few drops of lemon and olive oil to it. Now, apply this on your scalp and allow it to stand for a few minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water and a mild shampoo.
