Ways To Make The Most Out Of Dry Shampoos

By Super

Everyone dreams of having glowing and beautiful hair. But dreams do not always turn into reality unless you put the efforts in achieving it. Hair care treatment requires oiling, shampooing and conditioning. However, in today's hectic life, hair care can go for a toss. One day you wake up late and realise that you do not have enough time for using shampoo and drying your hair. And this one day can turn out to be a bad hair day for you. What do you do then?

The answer lies in dry shampoo. Never heard of it? Well, it is time to get acquainted with this quick and easy way of getting grease-free and manageable hair within a couple of minutes.

Ways To Make The Most Out Of Dry Shampoos

Dry shampoo comes in two forms – powder and spray. When you are in a hurry, sprinkle or spray the shampoo near the roots of the hair. Let it sit for about 5 to 10 minutes. This is the time when the shampoo soaks up all the grease from the hair. Next brush your hair to get rid of all the powder and dry stuff from the scalp and strands. This is one of the best ways to use shampoo when you are in a hurry.

Know your dry shampoo

No doubt, the concept of the dry shampoo is a rather helpful one. It has once again gained so much popularity. But to make use of this product to the fullest, it is important to know the product – especially its pros and cons. Only then you can gauge its usefulness.

Pros

It is time saving: When the whole process of washing, rinsing and drying is scaled down to simply spraying or sprinkling and brushing, you definitely would know that you are saving a lot of time.

Can be used anywhere: It is dry and hence can be carried anywhere. Keep yourself prepared with a pack of dry shampoo in your purse. No matter where you are, you will have enough space to spray or sprinkle dry shampoo on your hair and give it a good brushing. Instantly, you will have grease-free hair.

Gives volume: Using shampoo in the dry form is also known to give your hair extra volume. The hair becomes grease-free and each strand gets its own identity.

Eliminates grease: The whole idea of the dry shampoo is to make the hair less oily. The powder or spray helps soak up the grease from the scalp and gives the hair a nourished look. Also, it is said that daily shampooing the hair strips off its natural oils. Dry shampoo does not let the natural oils escape from the scalp.

No heat treatment required: If you are in the habit of blow drying your hair after every wash, then give the habit some rest. Dry shampoo does not require you to expose your hair to extreme heat just for the sake of drying your hair. It helps avoid the damages done to the hair as there is not much blow dryer needed here.

Cons

Can get flaky: Take care while using the dry shampoo. The white flakes can come up at the most inopportune times. To avoid these flaky particles, you must get rid of them by good brushing.

Aggravates dandruff: Shampoo particles applied on the hair roots can interfere with the dandruff in your hair. If you have scalp related problems, try to avoid the dry shampoo as it can aggravate the problem.

Interferes with oil secretion: Dry shampoo tends to absorb oils from the scalp which can disturb the oil secretion routine of the scalp. This interference can spell bad for the hair health as the natural process of the body is disturbed.

Not a cleanser: This type of shampoo is not a cleanser. Dry shampoo only absorbs the grease from the scalp and gives an immediate relief to the hair. In order to clean the hair, the only way to go is wet shampoo.

Dry shampoo is a helpful product but the best way to use this type of shampoo is to use it with responsibility. Do not overdo it. Using it once or twice a week is fine but too much of it can cause damage to the hair and scalp.
