Here are some of the steps that will help you stop hair knotting at its roots.

Use A Hair Gel After Bath
When you wash your hair, it gets totally knotted as it dries. Use a hair gel or serum after you wash your hair. This will help you comb out the knots easily. Or else, you will lose a lot of hair after every hair wash.

Comb Your Hair When It Is Semi Dry
Don't comb your hair when it is dripping wet. Also, don't wait for your hair to get completely dry. Wet hair is weak and breaks off easily. But when hair gets totally dry, it is badly knotted. You have to compensate by combing your hair when it is semi-dry. In this way, the hair will be manageable and yet strong enough to pass a comb through it.

Oil Your Hair At Night
When you go to bet at night, oil your hair thoroughly. Oiling makes your hair slippery and thus knotting becomes difficult. If you want to prevent hair knotting, apply oil the length on your hair and not just the scalp. This is not possible everyday, but you must do it at least twice a week.

Tie Up Your Hair At Night
Braid your hair properly before you go to bed. Once your hair is combed free of knots and then braided, it remains safe at night. Braided hair is protected from the friction caused by your pillow. This stops the breakage of hair and also split ends.

Roll Your Hair When You Go Out
The pollution of the atmosphere around you and the blowing wind is responsible for hair knotting. So every time you ware travelling on a bike or a rickshaw, roll up your hair tightly and use a clip to keep it in place. When you reach your destination, you can let your hair fall free again. But by rolling up your hair, you are protecting it from knotting.

These are a few simple ways to prevent hair knotting. Do you know any other ways to keep knots away from your hair?
