5 Natural Sunscreens For Your Hair
Get sun protection for your hair with some of these natural sunscreen.
Aloe Vera- Aloe Vera has UV blocking properties. It is a succulent plant with jelly like transparent substance in between its leaves. Aloe Vera paste has been long used for skin treatments. Take some aloe vera jelly from the plant leaf and apply it on your hair 15 minutes before taking a bath. Wash it off with cold water.
You are now free to go out in the sun and enjoy its bliss. Aloe Vera blocks the harmful UV rays from causing any sun damage to your hair. This natural sunscreen for hair is a very good moisturiser and it conditions your hair well.
Tea Leaf Extracts- Tea leaf extract is one of the most inexpensive and safest natural sunscreen that protects your hair from sun damage. This homemade sunscreen will also prevent your hair from drying. Green tea is preferable.
Boil some tea in a pan and allow it to cool down. Drain the tea water and keep it in a mug. Pour this tea water over your head and wear a shower cap. Keep it for at least 15-20 minutes and then wash it off. Tea tea extracts form a layer on your hair that protects it from the harmful rays of the sun. It also adds a reddish tinge to your hair.
Henna- Henna is one of the most popular natural sunscreen for hair. It coats the hair with a semi permanent protein. This semi permanent protein clings to our hair and protects it from UV damage. It is a very good hair dye also.
Use henna paste or mix some henna powder with water and soak it over night. Cover all your hair from roots to tips the next day with it and leave it to rest for about 45 minutes. Wash if off and you will find your hair has gained volume. It will not only give your hair abundant protection from sunlight but will reduce hair fall too.
Sesame Oil- Rub 5-6 drops of sesame oil on your comb and pass it all through your hair. It blocks sun rays and makes hair smooth and silky. You can also mix a few drops of coconut oil or almond oil with it for an effective homemade sunscreen for hair.
Vitamin E- Vitamin E works as an effective natural hair sunscreen. Take 2-3 vitamin E tablets in a spray bottle and add some water to it. Mix it well and spray it all over your hair after a shower. This vitamin acts as a natural sunscreen for hair and protects it from damage.
