What makes your hair healthy?

Healthy hair makes a statement of your fashion, lifestyle and above all your overall health. It is not just the products you use on your hair but your physical and mental health is involved a lot on healthy hair. Shampoo and conditioners, of course, help you to maintain the beauty of your hair, but it also raises some unhealthy effects. To avoid all these, you should know what type of hair you are blessed with and how to care for them in the proper way.

Whether long, short or curly, you can have pleasant looking hair without spending much on all sort of products and undergoing complex and time consuming beauty parlour visits. All that you need is common sense, dedication and a bit of patience.

Hair care is more about what you shouldn't do instead what you should do. Always be alert to resist hair lose and damage. As the first step to protect your hair from damage, trim your hair a half inch once in every month. The damage first affects the tip of your hair and then spreads to the top. Thus trim the tips to stop the damage to affect your hair further and result hair loose.

It is highly important to adhere to a healthy diet which is balanced as well. fat and grease in your food will lead to oily and dull hair. Cumin, turmeric and black pepper are some hair-friendly spices, add a lot of it in your dishes. Add a teaspoon of Olive oil into cooked vegetables and it will help your hair grow healthy. Avoid extreme diets, make sure both your body and your hair get the daily nourishment they need.

Always stay off from harsh chemicals. Never use a shampoo cum conditioner on your hair. Conditioner and shampoo are designed for different purposes. Shampoo is supposed to open pores or scales on the hair follicles and clean up oil and dirt. While conditioner closes the follicles and fills them with clean moisture. You need to do both one after another, never a two in one solution.

When taking bath or cleaning your hair, be gentle with it, never rub harshly with a towel. Wipe of the water gently from top to down. Do not use any heating devices to dry up your hair. Comb your hair to ensure all knots have been removed before shampooing. Circulation is also very important for healthy hair, so exercise regularly and drink plenty of water.
