8 Homemade Remedies For Healthy Glossy Nails!
Having healthy nails is an important step in beauty care, which most of us may neglect. However, here are home remedies you could use to get healthy glossy nails, take a look.
Like our hair and skin, nails also deserve a proper care, as dirty nails (especially the hand ones) can affect your health by means of food intake.
Unclean nails mean presence of germs in abundance and they go inside your stomach if you eat with your hands often. Besides, brittle nails also hint at medical weaknesses.
Over application of nail care products can also cause harm to the nails. So, it is very important to ensure that they are in proper shape and health.
There are products available in the market that look after their well-being but before trying them, why not make use of some home remedies to get healthy, glossy nails, right? What's the harm in trying something natural?
Here we list eight of the home remedies for healthy nails:
Coconut Oil:
Massage your nails with lukewarm coconut oil. This improves the blood supply to the nails and makes them healthy. Application of coconut oil also softens the cuticle.
Almond oil:
Mix a teaspoon of almond oil and some lemon juice and soak your hands into it for two minutes. Almond oil has antioxidants and nutrients that make your nails strong and prevent them from getting broken.
Sea Salt:
Add sea salt in water and dip your nails into it. Do this for two times a day in a week, so that you get good results. That's how to boost nail growth naturally.
Egg Shells:
This is a perfect home remedy for healthy nails. The high levels of calcium, iron, protein and minerals like magnesium and potassium protect the nails from damage. Crush the shells and add them with almonds, pecans and flax seeds in a blender and run it to get a powder. Take a teaspoon of this powder with warm milk every day morning and you will benefit.
Garlic:
Another excellent home remedy for nails in a number of ways is this one. Besides helping it to grow, the garlic protects the nails from infection and adds to their beauty. Cut a garlic clove into half and just rub it on your nails. Besides, you can also blend some cloves to prepare a paste and apply this DIY nail strengthening mask to the nails and leave it for five minutes, and rinse. Do this for a week and you can find the difference.
Tomato Juice:
Tomato, as always, helps our health in a number of ways and our nails also benefit from them. Put a few drops of rosemary oil in two tablespoons of tomato juice and apply the same to your nails that often get broken. You can also soak your nails in the same mixture for about 10 minutes and wash them with water. The antioxidants and proteins in this herbal mask for brittle nails help the nails grow stronger.
Protein Intake:
Since nails are made up of proteins (keratin), it is natural that you have to keep supplying them with the nutrient for their proper health. Eat protein-rich foods like fish, eggs, cheese, dry fruits, etc. Have eggs regularly for fine nails.
Apple Cider Vinegar:
Put one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar into a glass containing 2-3 cups of warm water. Soak a cotton into it and apply it on your nails. The alpha-hydroxy acids and acetic acid in the apple cider vinegar will moisturise your nails and make them stronger.
