14 Home Remedies For Dark Ankle

Many times the skin around our ankles appear to become dark brown or black. This is because the skin around the area becomes thick and dry due to constant friction with boots or rough clothes. Poor blood circulation, excessive dryness, sun tanning etc are also some of the factors responsible for dark ankles. It is most common in children and old people, dark ankles become an embarrassing situation especially if you have fair skin. However, there are many home remedies to cure such dark ankles.

Grind together few almonds with milk to form a smooth paste. Apply this paste on the dark ankle and leave for 30 minutes. Wash off after half an hour. You can also use honey instead of milk. Using this paste regularly yields good results in few days.

Lemon is a natural bleaching agent. Use this as a dark ankle remedy. Rub lemon rind for 5 to 10 minutes over the dark ankle regularly it will lighten it gradually.

Apply generous amount of castor oil on dark ankle before going to bed. Massage it for 10 minutes and cover it with socks. Wash it off or take a shower the next morning. Within a few days, dark ankle appears lightened.

Application of fresh aloe vera juice over dark ankle is an excellent remedy. Apply and keep it on for 30 minutes. Wash it off and repeat this twice daily for 2 weeks.

This is one of the best home remedies for dark ankles. Potatoes have mild acidic properties which act as bleaching agents. Massaging dark ankle regularly with potato slices reduces skin darkening around ankles.

Orange peels have been found to be effective in lightening dark ankles. Use this home remedies for dark spots on ankles. Apply a mixture of powdered sundried orange peels and milk or rose water over the dark ankle. Leave it on for 20 minutes. For better results a pinch of turmeric or 2-3 drops of lemon juice can also be added.

Glycerin has bleaching properties. Mix glycerin and rose water in equal ratio. Add a bit of honey. Apply this solution on dark ankle and leave for 45 mins. Repeat this for 10 days to get desired results.

A paste of baking soda with water can be applied to lighten dark ankle.You can also add 2 to 3 tablespoons of baking soda to half bucket of warm water and immerse the dark ankles for 15 to 20 minutes. Wash and pat dry.

Mix 1 tablespoon of coconut oil with ½ tablespoon of lemon juice.Apply over dark ankle for 15 minutes and leave for 15 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water and soap. Works excellently to get rid of dark ankle.

Milk has vitamins and fatty acids which act as natural skin whitening ingredients and helps reducing skin tone of dark ankle. A mixture of 1 tablespoon of rice flour with 2-3 tablespoons of fresh milk and 1 tablespoon of curd proves to be an excellent home remedy for dark ankle.
