Care for our feet normally take a back seat when compared to our other beauty treatments. In the entire human body, feet are the most strained and worked out parts. Despite this fact, feet are most neglected when it comes to beauty care. Lack of good care leaves your feet hard and cracked that result in bunions, infections and ingrown nails. There will even come a situation where you cannot walk a step due to the lack of good feet care. Foot care is very easy and simple that you can do from your home also.

Regular Foot Care

Use a Pumice stone or an abrasive foot scrub regularly to remove the dead and rough skin. If this skin is not removed it will become hard and thick and will be infected or cracked.

You have to wash your feet daily in warm and soapy water. A regular foot massage will be a relaxing experience for you as it stimulates the nerve endings.

The skin of the soles of your feet does not have oil glands. You have to use a good moisturizer every day to soften them. You can apply the moisturizer immediately after the bath or before sleeping at night. You have to avoid using scented lotions to moisturize your feet. Since scented lotions contain alcohol, they will dry your feet.

You can put a pair of loose cotton socks before going to bed. You have to keep your feet always warm.

How to protect your feet?

You must never walk barefoot as it will cause injury to your feet.

You have to check for injuries everyday on your feet.

You have to get a shoe that fit your feet properly. You have to measure your feet standing and not sitting.

The worn out shoes will lose their ability to support you. This can lead to feet, leg and back fatigue. It is apt to replace your shoes within six months of use.

It is always advisable to check your shoes regularly to make sure that they are free of stones and sharp and lumpy objects.

Foot Bath

A footbath will soothe and inspire your feet. You can put a cup of marbles in the bath water and move your feet around them to stir up the nerve endings. You can pick up the marbles and let them go again and again. This will allow the arches and muscles of your feet to stretch. A few drops of peppermint oil in the lotion will give a sensational treat for your feet.

You can have an easy Honey Foot Bath at home. You must have 1-tablespoon honey, 1-tablespoon liquid soap, 1-tablespoon vanilla extract and 2 tablespoons of sweet Almond oil. You have to mix these ingredients well with warm water and soak your feet in this solution for 10-15 minutes.

Home recipes and pedicure

If your time and money constrain you from the relaxing treatment for your feet, you can try the pedicure and the homemade lotions to enhance your feet.

For a pedicure at home, soak your feet in a mixture of warm water, lemon juice and liquid hand wash. Then scrub you feet with a pumice stone or exfoliating scrub to heel or remove the dead skin. After that dry your feet, trim your nails and push back the cuticle. You have to rinse your feet once again and pat them dry. Afterward you can have a foot massage with plenty of foot lotion.

A strawberry exfoliant can be made easily at home. You have to mix eight strawberries with two tablespoons of olive oil or sunflower oil. You must add ' teaspoon of finely chopped almonds and 1 teaspoon of kosher salt with this mixture. A paste of these ingredients can be massaged into all over your feet as an exfoliant. You have to rinse it off and pat the feet dry.

A soothing and natural foot lotion is very easy to make at home. You have to mix 1-tablespoon almond oil, 1-tablespoon olive oil, 1-tablespoon wheat germ oil and 12 drops of eucalyptus essential/ fragrance oil in a dark colored bottle. You have to shake these ingredients extremely well and store it in a dry and cool place. You can rub this lotion to your feet and heels for a gentle effect.

The step to get squeaky clean for your feet at home is very easy. All you need to have is lemon juice and paper towels. You have to mix together equal quantity of water and lemon juice. Then smoothly dip the paper towel into the mixture and apply it to your feet. Squeaky-clean will softens, removes odors and smoothes your feet.

Home made remedies for foot injuries

The sap from a marigold stem, milky juice from green figs or papaya juice are all good remedies for corns. You have to apply these solutions to the affected area regularly.

A slice of lemon bandaged on the corn overnight, will relieve you from this painful foot injury.

Crack on the heels can be cured by warm sesame oil or ghee.

The application of the warm mixture of 3 tablespoons of bees wax and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil is an effective remedy for cracked heels.

The mixture of 1 tablespoon of mango tree sap and 1 tablespoon of water is an easy medicine for cracked heels.

These simple and easy steps will enhance the beauty and health of your feet. Since feet are the most strained and worked out part in the complete human body, you have to take care of your feet for keeping them away from injuries and tiring out.
